Hello, I'm Beth Carroll. Welcome to NH Outlook.
This election year New Hampshire voters will not only have to vote for the next President-- they will also have to determine whether to re-elect the state's junior Senator to office.
Senator John Sununu is up for a second term and facing a tough fight from former Governor Jeanne Shaheen.
Sununu is a first-term Republican from Bedford.
From time to time we like to check in with our Congressional delegation to get their perspective on some of the key issues facing the country -- like the economy and Iraq.
On Friday, I sat down with Senator Sununu to talk about what's facing Congress and his re-election campaign.

How does stimulus pkg address Mortgage Crisis & have costs been calculated?

You were there this week -- what federal help is available to laid off papermill workers?
Did you , as critics argue, vote AGAINST extending UNEMPLOYMENT benefits to laid-off workers.?
Q ENERGY bill signed into law. You said NO to first version, but signed final version. WHY?
Q Would Renewable Energy Tax Credits help the north country and if so, would you work to get those passed?
INTERNET
Q You are the only ENGINEER in the senate. You're on the Commerce Cmte & involved in a lot of Internet Related Issues - you worked to extend the BAN on taxing Internet Access. How important is that to the North country?
WAR:
Democrats won control of House and Senate in large part due to widespread oppostion to the war.
Q How soon can we see troops coming home?
Q What constitutes Success in Irag? And when could we see that?
R General Petraues expected to update Congress in March….what are your expectations.
HEALTH CARE

Why NOT some kind of Universal Health care?
HEIMLICH
Q ALL in a days work category: At recent dinner YOU came to the rescue of Journalist AL HUNT, When a piece of chicken got stuck in his windpipe. What happened?
RE-ELECTION
Q You're facing RE-Election. You have a challenger in former democratic Gov Jeanne Shaheen. NH, once a republican dominated state.seems to be leaning democratic. How TOUGH do you think your relection battle will be?
END
q What accomplishments would you point to to convince voters to send you back to
Washington?
WATERBOARDING
Q Is WATERBOARDING TORTURE?
Why did you vote AGAINST the Intelligence Bill that would have BANNED the CIA's use of WATERBOARDING and other harsh interrogation methods.
WIRETAPPING
Q In the past you've parted company with Republicans over concerns about the Patriot Act, which makes it easier to secretly tape phones. But voted FOR the Intelligence bill on WIRETAPPING -- which some say opens the door to warrantless monitoring of any form of communication originating in the US?
